Grammar Trimester 2

This term there is a lot of grammar that is embeded in the tasks that we will cover in class. Anything here is additional or, any extra worksheets that I give you in class. I will endeavour to add plenty of useful links here as well.

Week 1 - 2:

Focus- Sentence Types, Determers and Quantifiers, Comparatives and Superlatives

Sentence Types: Review. Language in context.

Determiners & Quantifiers:                                Articles:

This is general but, covers everything.                 This site is both spoken and visual.                                                                                             There are exercises to complete as well.

Comparatives and Superlatives:

The sites and articles below should help you develop your understanding and ability to use comparative language.

The trick is to remember the irregulars words by linking it to something in your world. For example: My little sister is younger than me. I am her older sister. There are two of us and I am the oldest.

It helps too, to learn the syllable rule. :)

Both of the sites below are from the British Council. Try some of the games too. They are fun!

I particulary like this site for IELTS that focuses on comparing graphs/tables. You'll find lots of other links on this site which will be useful, too.

This is a useful, video....it explains the grammarpoints, and you get to see and hear language in action.

Have a listen! It's good.

Write down the superlatives as you hear them.
