Week 3
Saturday CEPA Lessons, 23rd of January:
As with last week, we began with CEPA training on Saturday between 10.30 and 2 pm.
For the students who came, you are to be congratulated but, I urge you to come on time, please. Your effort will show in the exam and, in your developing understandings. Again, as your teacher, I encourage all of you to follow their good example. Once again, we completed a lot of work.

The following is an overview of what we did:

Prepositions: in, inside and outside, out and in, up and down, between and inbetween, beside and at, behind and in front of, on. To develop understanding we wrote example sentences and went on a Preposition walk.

Sunday the 24th of January:
Can you believe that it's Week 3 already! I can't! Well, it's time to really start knuckling under! We have plenty of work to get done. I hope you are ready!
This week we have CEPA Practice Test No. 4 to get done as well.

Grammar: Comparatives & Superlatives
12S are well on the way to completing the Focus Questions. Well Done ladies. Question summaries/reflections will be completed tomorrow. Visuals to your left.
12A worked as groups on definitions of 'a civilization'. They all completed their Comparative Tables for Societies (the first)/Civilizations.
12B are behind due to some issues in class and need to catch-up. They began some work on Comparatives & Superlatives.
The KWL Charts (individual and class) are almost up to date.

Monday the 25th of January:
Day 2 and the CEPA Practice Tests have begun, again. 12B have completed the 4th exam.....12S & A will tomorrow.
Continued analysis of the Focus Questions was done.
Wednesday: Diagnostic Test - Reading and Writing
Students should review their vocabulary, sentence forms and the Passive Tense.
Tuesday the 26th of January:
Today is Australia Day. It is the day when your teacher celebrates being Australian.
In class we focused on developing a concrete understanding, as relates to the Focus Questions. In groups we worked on the document attached.
12S managed to squeeze in a little work on the Passive Tense, as well.
Wednesday the 27th of January:
The focus today was on completing work on the Focus Questions and on the written aspects of a Diagnostic Test. (The school photocopiers are not working ... so we adapted.)
12S did some more work on the passive tense, too.
Thursday the 28th of January:
Today 23 Grade 12 Students attended an Excursion to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. It was an eventful and fun day. To those who didn't attend- we missed you!
